Move the photos out of your camera roll so they don't turn up when your phone is around:
- Hide them into the Hidden album (••• → Hide).
- On iOS 16+ it's locked with Face ID by default.
- Turn the album off from view entirely: Settings → Photos → Show Hidden Album off, so there's no "Hidden" folder to notice.
What only looks private
A regular album doesn't remove photos from the main library, and shared albums or iCloud sharing can surface them on a partner's devices. If you share an Apple account or iCloud, be aware hidden photos still sync to your own devices.
